My First Japan Trip

I just booked my first trip to Japan. It's a 9 days trip to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nara.

It'll be a cool autumn in Japan and I can't wait to see the pretty creatures in the Nara Deer Park.

Any tips to share with me? I can't wait! =)

2nd IPL Session at Musee Platinum Tokyo @ Millienia Walk

I had my 2nd session last Mon at Musee Platinum but have been too busy to write about it. As some of you may have read in my 1st post on my 1st ever IPL session at Musee Platinum Tokyo, I was enticed by the $188 unlimited underarm IPL promotion.

And guess what? It's still available. The therapist told me that it's extended until end August. So yeah, do hurry over and sign up for this great deal if you have been considering it.

The 2nd session was pleasant and fuss free and it was over within 30 mins. The lovely staff even brought me a magazine as I was lying in the treatment room waiting for my turn.

Please do not shave 2-3 days before the treatment. The therapist will shave for you on the spot if necessary and I was told to stay away from the sun or exercise 24hrs after the IPL session. And to answer some of you who asked about whitening, the therapist mentioned that the gel applied has whitening and moisturizing properties and the light emitted from the IPL session does whiten the skin also.

And I wanna say a big Thank You! to all who quoted my membership no:  81005130 when you sign up. I will soon try out IPL for my *ahem* nether region. I'll definitely share my 3rd session here.

Do share your experiences gals too! One reader mentioned that there were burn cases at another salon, Hope she'll elaborate more.

And if you're a 1st-timer to IPL, do read up about my 1st session here. It's not scary, not painful and it's totally worth it! No more daily shaving for me and my skin is less irritated. Refer your friends and you can get free IPL sessions too. =)

Tea Salon With An Old World Charm

Guess where? Yeah, it's TWG Tea Salon & Boutique @ Orchard ION.

I love the revolving centerpiece holding all the different tins of lovely tea leaves. And the many TWG Tea Exclusive Blends.

I had a pot of Mistral Tea with a lovely smell. And the jam for the scones was simply divine. Simply because the jams are infused with their own tea blends. Mmmmm....

Feeling Inspired

I haven't been blogging in all my blogs for some time. The usual getting caught up with work, busy with making money and achieving my goals got in the way of blogging.

Yet somehow, I feel inspired today. Inspired by the people I met today. To remind myself of my dreams and to enjoy the process of it all.

And the above picture says it all. It's a painting inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Starry Night. One of my favourite paintings and songs.

Enjoy your day! =)

Mochamp at Raffles Xchange, Raffles Place MRT Shopping - BAD Customer Service

I always wonder why people who dislike serving ends up in the service line.

Just last week, I met a very rude saleswoman from Mochamp (#B1-56) at Raffles Xchange. The shop was running a massive sale and I decided to buy a top and a dress.

However, the top was faulty with torn lace. The salesperson sewed the torn portion and and told me that it'll do but I noticed the another tear along the lace. The top was white (the torn portion will show up more clearly against my skin tone) and with 2 tears, I contemplated before trying my luck by asking for a discount as I really liked it. And I did this in a nice and polite tone.

The lady curtly replied that the top was already discounted and the torn portion mended. I pointed out the next tear to her and she so very rudely snatched the top from my hand. Putting it next to her, she said in a rude tone that I shouldn't buy it then and proceeded to ask for my payment for the dress.

I told her I wasn't going to get it because she was so rude and walked out from the shop.

I couldn't believe that this salesperson thought that I would still want to part with my money with this kind of attitude of hers! She should not be in the service line if she doesn't want to serve.

Even if the dress cost a dirt cheap amount of $1, I'll still not pay her a single cent. Her service is cheap but I am not!

An Indian Night Out - Tandoor North Indian Restaurant @ Holiday Inn Singapore

Friday's birthday celebration at Tandoor North Indian Restaurant is probably the last birthday celebration this year for my family. I got Val to write a birthday card for my sis and here she is happily posing with it.

Not too bad an attempt for a 3 years old although it got worse towards the end... The words are actually:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY!
2010
VALERIE + CLARA

The award winning Tandoor North Indian Restaurant's ambiance is really classy and cozy and made us feel very welcomed.

We ordered a lamb curry, a chicken curry, a brinjal dish and a exceptionally well-cooked grilled fish dish called Mahi Rai. And  of course 2 non-spicy dishes (chicken & cheese) for the little girls.

I particularly like the Paneer (cheese) for North Indian food and everyone loves the Mahi Rai. It had a tinge of sourly lemony taste that blended so well with the richly flavoured fish. With each bite of the fish, there was a burst of flavours!

We were told by the manager that this dish is prepared with a kind of Spanish mackerel marinated for at least 6 hours. The ingredients consist of mustard seed, ginger and tumeric and it is the mustard seed that helps deliver the wonderful flavour into the fillet during the 6 hours marination.

The Mango Lassi was good too and we had a yummy dinner that night. With a Standard Charted credit card, you can even enjoy a further 15% discount!

Read more review about Tandoor North Indian Restaurant here. Apparently, their set lunch is really value for money!

At the end of the meal, we were served this sweet treat. The "rice bits" tasted like they were spice perfume and even little Clara had some of it. The taste of perfume lingered in the mouth and this was a nice touch to finish off the dinner.

Does anyone know what this is called? Do leave me a message if you do.

On the whole, we had a very pleasant evening with great service. And don't be deceived by little Clara's demure and blur look here, she was so comfortable that night at the restaurant that she kept saying "Hello!" to everyone who walked past.

And I also found out that this little feisty 1.5 years old girl here can take spicy food!

Strawberry Shortcake Wannabe-Not

2 days ago, my niece Val kept calling me "Strawberry Shortcake" when I came home in the late evening.

Dumbfounded, my sis asked her why and she pointed out that I have red hair.

Things kids say... Cute! =)
