Super Yummy Chicken Rice Balls in Malacca From Trip Up North

I just got back from my trip up north. It was another round of feasting. On our way back from KL, bf and I decided to drop by Malacca to take a look.

We heard about the yummy chicken rice there and wanted to try it of course. And it exceeded our expectation! But it's only the chicken rice that was nice and not the chicken.

The rice come in golf ball sizes of 5pcs in a plate.

To locate this store, just go to the roundabout with many famous landmarks. And this simple and authentic looking store is tucked away at the side of a building. It's facing a big store that sells lots of local snacks for tourist, at one end of Jonker Street.

We have a choice of either half a chicken or breast meat. We chose breast meat for not wanting to overeat after gaining a few kilos from this trip. And the meat was dry, dry and very dry!

But the bite size rice balls were yummy!! They were moist, soft and full of flavour. I'm sure I would have eaten it on its own even if the chicken meat was sold out, and I am not even a carbo fan.

You can check out this blog for clearer pics. There's many chicken rice stores there but this had the longest queue. We deduced that it must good. And we also realised that the queue was kinda artificially created. Nonetheless, we had a good meal. Do make sure you don't end up in the wrong store.

Well, Malacca is not my cup of tea. A small colonial town that's too touristy. We stayed for an hour or so, grabbed some snacks for our families and got going.

But not before I got myself this pretty hat for only 5 ringgit!

Cheap!
