Tea Salon With An Old World Charm

Guess where? Yeah, it's TWG Tea Salon & Boutique @ Orchard ION.

I love the revolving centerpiece holding all the different tins of lovely tea leaves. And the many TWG Tea Exclusive Blends.

I had a pot of Mistral Tea with a lovely smell. And the jam for the scones was simply divine. Simply because the jams are infused with their own tea blends. Mmmmm....

Feeling Inspired

I haven't been blogging in all my blogs for some time. The usual getting caught up with work, busy with making money and achieving my goals got in the way of blogging.

Yet somehow, I feel inspired today. Inspired by the people I met today. To remind myself of my dreams and to enjoy the process of it all.

And the above picture says it all. It's a painting inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Starry Night. One of my favourite paintings and songs.

Enjoy your day! =)

Mochamp at Raffles Xchange, Raffles Place MRT Shopping - BAD Customer Service

I always wonder why people who dislike serving ends up in the service line.

Just last week, I met a very rude saleswoman from Mochamp (#B1-56) at Raffles Xchange. The shop was running a massive sale and I decided to buy a top and a dress.

However, the top was faulty with torn lace. The salesperson sewed the torn portion and and told me that it'll do but I noticed the another tear along the lace. The top was white (the torn portion will show up more clearly against my skin tone) and with 2 tears, I contemplated before trying my luck by asking for a discount as I really liked it. And I did this in a nice and polite tone.

The lady curtly replied that the top was already discounted and the torn portion mended. I pointed out the next tear to her and she so very rudely snatched the top from my hand. Putting it next to her, she said in a rude tone that I shouldn't buy it then and proceeded to ask for my payment for the dress.

I told her I wasn't going to get it because she was so rude and walked out from the shop.

I couldn't believe that this salesperson thought that I would still want to part with my money with this kind of attitude of hers! She should not be in the service line if she doesn't want to serve.

Even if the dress cost a dirt cheap amount of $1, I'll still not pay her a single cent. Her service is cheap but I am not!

An Indian Night Out - Tandoor North Indian Restaurant @ Holiday Inn Singapore

Friday's birthday celebration at Tandoor North Indian Restaurant is probably the last birthday celebration this year for my family. I got Val to write a birthday card for my sis and here she is happily posing with it.

Not too bad an attempt for a 3 years old although it got worse towards the end... The words are actually:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY!
2010
VALERIE + CLARA

The award winning Tandoor North Indian Restaurant's ambiance is really classy and cozy and made us feel very welcomed.

We ordered a lamb curry, a chicken curry, a brinjal dish and a exceptionally well-cooked grilled fish dish called Mahi Rai. And  of course 2 non-spicy dishes (chicken & cheese) for the little girls.

I particularly like the Paneer (cheese) for North Indian food and everyone loves the Mahi Rai. It had a tinge of sourly lemony taste that blended so well with the richly flavoured fish. With each bite of the fish, there was a burst of flavours!

We were told by the manager that this dish is prepared with a kind of Spanish mackerel marinated for at least 6 hours. The ingredients consist of mustard seed, ginger and tumeric and it is the mustard seed that helps deliver the wonderful flavour into the fillet during the 6 hours marination.

The Mango Lassi was good too and we had a yummy dinner that night. With a Standard Charted credit card, you can even enjoy a further 15% discount!

Read more review about Tandoor North Indian Restaurant here. Apparently, their set lunch is really value for money!

At the end of the meal, we were served this sweet treat. The "rice bits" tasted like they were spice perfume and even little Clara had some of it. The taste of perfume lingered in the mouth and this was a nice touch to finish off the dinner.

Does anyone know what this is called? Do leave me a message if you do.

On the whole, we had a very pleasant evening with great service. And don't be deceived by little Clara's demure and blur look here, she was so comfortable that night at the restaurant that she kept saying "Hello!" to everyone who walked past.

And I also found out that this little feisty 1.5 years old girl here can take spicy food!

Strawberry Shortcake Wannabe-Not

2 days ago, my niece Val kept calling me "Strawberry Shortcake" when I came home in the late evening.

Dumbfounded, my sis asked her why and she pointed out that I have red hair.

Things kids say... Cute! =)

The Best Tiramisu in Singapore Found!

I had the best Tiramisu in my life last night. As you can see, midway into eating the large bowl of Tiramisu, I just had to whip out my camera to share the pic with you guys.

Guess where?

Yeah, this heavenly indulgence can be found at my favourite Margarita's at Dempsey again! The same place to go to for my favourite margaritas and now, my favourite tiramisu.

It's called Kahlua Tiramisu and comes in a huge portion topped with lots of mascarpone cheese.

Paired with the ever so yummy glass of strawberry margarita, I was having a great time with great company.

This big bowl discovery of mine was definitely worth the extra weeks of exercise.

Adios a mis amigos!! The little Mexican wanna sleep now...

against the stem of glass, isn't it so so cute? =)

God Has A Plan For Us All

And his plan is written in your bazi, your destiny chart, whatever terms you want to give to it.

Believing in this doesn't make me an advocate for fortune telling (most fortune tellers aren't all that accurate anyway). Believing in this doesn't mean I think that everything is fixed and cannot be changed by man's actions and decisions.

Believing in this merely mean that I believe some things are fated to happen. Some people are fated to cross your paths. And your destiny can be changed, only if you really truly want it to by taking actions!

Do you have similar beliefs? Share yours with me! =)
