8 Days Seoul Itinerary & Interesting Things To Do

Some of you have been have been asking me about my Seoul itinerary and I'll share it here with you with the interesting bits.

 A'REX Platform at Incheon Airport

Day 1
Day 2
My Best Meal in Seoul This Trip
Day 3

All Bright & Orangey
    • It's worth a visit as the architecture and scenery is beautiful
Day 4

    • There's restaurants serving breakfast there so you won't have to worry about food if you want to go early
    • Do note the performance schedule if you want to be in time for the shows
    • We celebrated my friend's birthday and mine too with a cake from Apres-midi; it has THE BEST macaron cake I've ever eaten. The texture was soft and moist and before we knew it, the whole cake was gone!
Apre-midi Strawberry Macaron Cake

Day 5
  • KTX to Gwangju, then a bus to Damyang
Day 6
Rustic Beauty
  • Check out of Hanok
Hanok's Common Dining Room
  • Head back to Seoul from Gwangju
  • Myeong-Dong shopping
    • If you need to exchange currency, Myeong-Dong is the place to go to. There's a lot of money changers to choose from.
  • Dak Hanmari dinner again at Dongdaemum; it shows how much we enjoyed it
  • Late night shopping at Doota and Miglore at Dongdaemum
Day 7
    • We also tried the roadside tent supper food and it wasn't nice. We got misled by the K-dramas.

Day 8
  • Last minute shopping at Myeong-Dong
  • Bye bye Seoul before heading to Incheon Airport
New Found Love Bought Available at DFS

    • The above kimchi brand is supposedly the best available at DFS. I personally think that it'll be wiser to buy your kimchi from Lotte Mart where you can sample and select the one more suited to your taste bud. Moreover, it'll cost less than the 10USD pack above.
Hope this helps! =)

Nice! I hope to make it there to Seoul soon (once my babies grow up a BIT more!) Haha... In the meanwhile I can enjoy your posts on this! ;)

Hi L,

Yes, Seoul is fun and Ewha University is indeed gorgeous. If it was a mixed university, I'm sure romance will be in the air.

=)

Hi San,

Glad that you're enjoying my posts. How old are your babies?

Yes, Seoul is fun and I'm sure you'll be able to bring your family sometime soon too.

Cheers,

Oooh Bokbunja Wine! I love this!
Can you tell me where is DFS?

I'm glad I found your blog before my Korea trip :)

Hi Foxy Frangipani,

I bought the Bokbunja Wine from Incheon Airport DFS.

One outlet (turn right after immigration) sells the one I bought as in my picture. Another one (turn left after immigration) sells another brand that was served at APEC 2005. http://hansaekorea.en.ecplaza.net/2.asp

Is it possible to bring the wine back to Sin? I always thought we can only bring in wine bought at Sin airport. Will be going to Seoul in Oct & would love to buy back if its possible.

Hi there,

Yes, you can buy from other airport or other countries also. As long as you don't exceed the total custom limit.

If you are buying from other countries (not from their airports), just ensure you packed it well in your luggage as you won't be able to hand carry liquids onto plane.

Enjoy yourselves and the wine! ;)

Hi, how much is the KTX tickets from Seoul to Gwangju. Is it advisable to buy the KR pass?
Thanks

Mei said...

Hi Cheryl,

1 way ticket from Seoul to Gwangju is about 50,000KRW.

I don't know about the KR pass but since it was only a trip to Gwangju, we just bought 2-way tickets.

More details about Damyang can be found here: http://life-bite.blogspot.com/2011/04/damyang-gun-slow-city-samjicheon.html

Hope this helps! =)

Hi there, it is not in Seoul city, about 2 hrs travel time by bus or train.

You may find more info here:

You'll probably need to do a day trip there and can leave by late afternoon if you do it fast. ;)
